Made from long lasting, high quality, corrosion resistant, grade 434 stainless steel. 

This wool is highly resistant to exhaust acids and high vibration making it an excellent material for muffler baffling and custom motorcycle exhaust packing.

Stainless steel wool is a better packing material than the cheaper and less durable glass wool, lasting 4 to 5 times longer. Stainless steel wool is not affected by the pressures of exhaust gasses and, unlike glass wool, will not compact and degrades less over time.

Replacing your old muffler packing can result in a significant gain in horsepower. Worn-out muffler packing can cause drastic loss of low end response. It's recommended that you change your muffler packing every 20,000 kms or 2 years, whichever comes first.

The more densely you pack the muffler – the longer it will last, providing better heat insulation and better performance, but will be slightly heavier and will attenuate sound levels less (increase sound).

The less densely you pack the muffler – the shorter the life span, providing less heat insulation and less performance, but will be slightly lighter and will attenuate sound levels more (decrease sound).
